Q:Can you really see for almost 30 miles?
A:Yes. We are located on mountain land between 7000 and 7200 feet above sea level. You can actually see for almost 30 miles from most areas. We have magnificent panoramic views.
Q:What kind of wildlife is there at Red Hills?
A:There are over 60 species of birds and over 20 species of butterflies. We have the nilgiri thar, panthers, sambar and foxes, to name a few. In fact, we are located in the midst of 2 national sanctuaries.
Q:Are there trails for riding and hiking?
A:Red Hills has a great number of trails, which you may use for biking and hiking. We do not permit the use of any motorized vehicles on the trails. Please note that only electric vehicles will be permitted to preserve serenity, avoid noise pollution, and prevent harming the environment.
Q:Will Red Hills and the surrounding area be further developed?
A:About 95 percent of the land surrounding the Red Hills is either public land, protected national or state forests, or large farms and private ranches that have been in the same family for many generations. The adjacent Upper Bhavani National Forests and Western Catchment are permanently protected forest lands. Don’t ever expect to see shops, highways, high tension power lines or traffic!
Q:Is the area safe?
A:Even a cursory look at local, state crime statistics will show that the Red Hills area has one of the lowest crime rates in the entire nation. You will be free to enjoy all that Red Hills and the surrounding areas have to offer without living in fear.

A:The Summer is Max 25 C , Min 10 C. The Winter is Max 21 C, Min 5 C.
Q:How far is the airport?
A:Red Hills is approximately 180 kms from Coimbatore which is the closest airport. Jet Airways and Air India offer daily service to connections across the country, including Bangalore, Mumbai, and Delhi.
Q:Is Red Hills really as beautiful and pristine as it looks?
A:Yes, it is – in fact, it is far more amazing in person than it appears in the photos on this website. You simply must see it yourself to appreciate it. The views are simply awe inspiring. The land is rich, green and stunningly beautiful. The entire region is pristine. Pollution levels are almost non-existent, so the air is fresh and crisp. We even get our water fresh from a spring in the mountains.
